In the coming you will be able to like your friend’s posts on Facebook with just a smile on your face, it has been heard that Facebook, a widely used social network around the world tends to introduce a new feature “face recognition” to its network, though the feature has already been adopted by snapchat and users love to use it frequently.
The “Social media giant “has purchased FacioMetrics, a facial recognition software firm, in a drive to integrate the technology into the Facebook platform.
By simply scanning the faces of billions of users around the world, the software could measure reactions to progress gesture-based controls, such as smiling to give a “Like.” Facebook declared that it has bought facial recognition, potentially using the technology for video or photo effects to better challenge its competitor “Snapchat.”
Facebook spokesperson said “How people share and communicate is changing and things like masks and other effects allow people to express themselves in fun and creative ways.
FacioMetrics was founded in 2015 and focusses on using artificial intelligence to offer facial image analysis capabilities to the applications that run on every smartphone. The technology has potential in hosting of requests, including those focused on measuring audience reactions, animation and virtual or augmented realities.
FacioMetrics founder and chief executive De la Torre said. “We’re taking a big step forward by joining the team at Facebook, where we’ll be able to advance our work at an incredible scale, reaching people from across the globe.”
Parent company Snap evaluates that it has more than 100 million users globally of the service for sending images, text messages and videos which disappear after being viewed. Some reports claim that it can generate 10
billion video views per day. Since ineffectively trying to buy Southern California-based Snapchat several years ago, Facebook has started to copying popular features.
