Everybody is always looking for the secret to success. It is something that I’ve actually spent hours looking into. While I was scrolling through the Internet today, I saw something rather interesting. It was a quote, the secret to success, according to a dead hindu author.
“Put your heart, mind and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the secret of success.”
– Swami Sivananda
I’ve heard things like this throughout my entire life. It automatically seems like a cliche by now. “Just try your best!” It’s a little sad tht kids are brainwashed into thinking the world will accept them if they try their best. The world is mean and nasty, the world doesn’t accept people, it tears people down.
Giving things your all will definitely help you with success, but there is no secret to success. In case you didn’t read that right, let me repeat that; There are NO secrets to success. If there was a secret to success, most people would be successful, because all you would have to do was find it. There’s no one thing that will carry you in the direction of your dreams. Working hard(AKA giving things your all) will definitely help your efforts, but it’s not everything.
You have to work hard, but you also have to work smart. It doesn’t matter how hard you’re working if you’re going the wrong way. If you work harder than anyone else, but you’re working toward the wrong goal, all you’ll really be doing is pushing yourself farther and farther away from your goals. If you do that, the good news will be: you’ve came a long way; the bad news will be: you went the wrong way.
If you don’t figure out what works for you, that is what will make you successful, you’ll get stuck going the wrong way for your entire life.
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
– Thomas Edison
It might be a little painful to figure what works for you. It’s going to take some failure and some experimentation, but it’s going to pay off.
What’s better, failing in the beginning, but knowing how to accomplish your goals, or not knowing if you’re going in the right direction for a lifetime? I think you know the answer. I don’t know about you, but failure is not an option. I refuse to be blind for a lifetime. So that’s my secret to success. Figure out what works, and then stick to it.
