Henry Ford : Ford

Henry Ford was an American entrepreneur. He dropped out of school at the age of 16. He then moved on to being the founder of Ford Motor Company in 1903, when he was 40. Even though his success came quite late, Henry Ford was extremely successful after that. In 1911 he brought his business to Britain and Canada, to then become the biggest producer of cars in those two countries too. If he was still alive nowadays, he would be the richest man in the world, from the people whose fortune we actually know about. His fortune would be estimated at approximately 190 billion dollars.

Mark Zuckerberg : Facebook

Mark Zuckerberg is an American programmer and entrepreneur. He dropped out of college when he was 19 years old to concentrate on the creation of Facebook with other students from Harvard University. At first designed just for Harvard University, the social media page was then introduced to other universities, to then become the famous web page it is nowadays. Facebook met a huge success, with already one billion users by 2012, just eight years after its creation. Created for other purposes, Facebook reached such a level of popularity that Zuckerberg made a fortune in just a few years. In 2017, Mark Zuckerberg’s fortune is estimated at 63 billion dollars.

Larry Page : Google

Larry Page is an American computer scientist. He left university to co-found the most famous search engine, Google. He met Sergey Brin, the other founder of Google in Stanford University, and they both decided to stop their studies to concentrate on the creation of the search engine. His fortune is estimated to be around 50 billion dollars.

Michael Dell : Dell

Michael Dell is an American businessman. He is the founder of Dell, a computer technology business, which he started in 1984. He is not the CEO of the company anymore, since he preferred to just be a chairman, since it meant fewer responsibilities. His fortune is estimated at 20 billion dollars.

Steve Jobs : Apple

Steve Jobs was an American entrepreneur and businessman. He dropped out of college in 1972 before travelling around India while studying Buddhism. He co-founded Apple in 1976 with Steve Wozniak. Apple is a technology company that created computer software, before going into the smartphone market and later on tablets. Steve Jobs was the face of the brand, famous for his amazing presentation skills, which he could use during the presentations of the new Apple products. His fortune was estimated at approximately 14 billion dollars.

Bill Gates : Microsoft

Bill Gates is an American businessman. He probably is the best example of a self-made man who managed his way without a college degree. He started studying at Harvard University only to leave two years later to create Microsoft. Founded in 1975, Microsoft is a company that creates computer software. The most famous software is Microsoft Office, which includes Word, Excel and PowerPoints. Later on they decided to create video game consoles to compete with PlayStation on the market. They called their console the Xbox. Microsoft has become one of the market leaders in all of the categories they target. Bill Gates is now recognised as the richest man in the world, even though he has been giving away a lot of his money to charities. His fortune is estimated at 88 billion dollars in 2017.
